Aikido...is really worth taking the course?

I%26#039;m really a huge martial arts fan! I%26#039;m thinking of taking it so I can be more relaxed and more focused but I want to hear it from all of those who have the experience....10 points will be given away =]|||Steven Segal is not the %26quot;center%26quot; of the Aikido world, but does have some good technique.

Keep an open mind. It is a wonderful martial art. It is the Art of Peace. You will learn joint locks, pins,throw%26#039;s etc.

You will learn to blend with the attacker to use his momentum against him. I can go on but you will learn a lot. Sit in on a class to see, you just might get hooked. That%26#039;s how I joined.

You will not get a lot of ego chest pounders in Aikido for the most part. It takes longer to learn than other, but it%26#039;s all fun along the way.|||Aikido is an internal style so the learning curve is longer. It is an incomplete system, because the founder did not wish to teach his students everything he knew.

There are some things I would say are wrong with many dojo and styles, however with intelligence these can be overcome.

From personal experience and sampling of the other styles I recommend Yoshinkan. It%26#039;s much more practical than the others.

It is however well worth the time and energy.|||Aikido is a great style to get into. They are so much that you will be able to learn . I my self teach Shinbu Aikido, you can go to my website that I have posted below in the source section. On the site they are information that you can read and a few video that you can watch.|||Aikido is very enjoyable. The moves are more complicated than other MA but mastering a move with rhythm, timing and the %26quot;empty mind%26quot; is the whole point of MAs. Putting down your opponent without thinking and with effortless technique feels great.|||Steven Segal has a reputation for being a complete jerk to everyone he is working with, I think he would be the worst example for someone who is centered|||Hell yeah.....don%26#039;t you see how relaxed Steven Segal looks in his movies???
