After mastering aikido, what do you get in return?

hats the purpose of it and what do you get out of it|||LOL! I%26#039;ll let you know if I ever get there.

True mastery of any art or method offers more than some impressive knowledge and a collection of fancy techniques. Once you get to that point, the study of the art isn%26#039;t about mastering the method. It%26#039;s about mastering yourself.

%26quot;Life is growth. If we stop growing, technically and spiritually, we are as good as dead.%26quot;

-- Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido|||There isn%26#039;t anything mystical about martial arts.

You do it because you love it, if you don%26#039;t you don%26#039;t stick with it your whole life and you don%26#039;t come even close to mastering it.

Mastery is technically impossible so we say it takes a life time. There is always something for you to learn or consider in a new way and this can be very rewarding for a practitioner who has dedicated themselves to their training.

Short term returns include physical fitness, flexibility, socializing with like-minded students and self defense skills. As I%26#039;ve said, the long term is really for those that love the art and they aren%26#039;t so much looking to get anything out of it; instead they just continue enjoying it.

This applies to every martial art by the way, not just aikido.|||...Old age.

No martial art can be %26quot;mastered%26quot;. If you mean when you receive your shodan, then the real training begins. You can never perfect it or learn every technique. It%26#039;s a lifelong martial art and there is always more to learn. It%26#039;s purpose, peace and self defense. What you get out of it, peace and self defense. Though many get more than that out of it. It just depends on the individual person and their individual experiences.|||Actually, you can get a sense of peace and calmness. When you have the confidence of eing able to defend yourself in most situations, you can be at ease. Please note, that, you can achieve this sensation with lots of training in most martial arts.

Good luck on your journey.|||Shaman told you right. I hope you may master your art, but I have yet to do so, as I have only been at it for 40 odd years. Certainly not enough to master it!

J|||u turn into a dragon...no

it pretty much means that u have just turned another page in a book.

Just keep moving on start to realize what is working for u and figure new things out|||You can never master the art, you can only master yourself. And when you get to that level, you%26#039;ll understand.|||You get a nice black belt wit hyour name written in Japanese, and a neat black skirt called a Hakama....and you have a better shot at becoming the next steven segal|||You die, because you never master it while you are alive. There is always something new to learn :-)|||you cant master a martial art|||kick anyones azz that get in your way
