Does aikido thrive on flexibilty?

im not a really flexibe person and im thinking of taking up aikido, so i need to no whether or not i need flexibility. if i do then im hoping u could tell me how i can become more flexible and if u can, plzz support ur answer with a website.|||In Aikido, there are aspects of flexibility, just as in every other Martial system. However, the difference lies in where the requirement for flexibility is. Althought Aikido stretches out the whole body before training, most of the true flexibility would be hands, wrists, shoulders, elbows, and other such joints, to increase resistance to moves and become better Ukemi.





As a whole though, compared to other Martial arts I have taken, the amount of flexibility is greatly reduced in comparison.|||In Aikido, there are aspects of flexibility, most of the true flexibility would be hands, wrists, shoulders, elbows, and other such joints, to increase resistance to moves and become better Ukemi.|||It helps to be flexible in all the martial arts just for your own safety.|||just start taking it flexibility will come with time
