Just woundering if I could maybe find a video on You Tube or something, so if anyone knows which UFC he or they were in it would be a big help. Maybe even a name. Thank you.|||To use the name Aikido, no one has, not even Jason. The ideas and concepts are there however, even if they don%26#039;t know it. As well are those who use Judo and never trained in Judo. The idea and concept of the style may appear but not the actual style itself. And yes UFC and most, if not all, mma events do not allow joint manipulation and pressure point attacks, which is a very big part of Aikido. I have done a few small and local shows in my town and I have used the idea%26#039;s and concepts, even though I have trained in Aikido for many years and find it very effective in real life, I%26#039;d be a fool to attempt to stay with only Aikido in a real fight, as would anyone be a fool to remain boxed up into one style, and one style only.|||everyone uses it at one point its mainlt a deffensive type of fighting style|||Several fighters in the UFC, including Karo Parysian, combine Judo throws in their game, but no one uses Aikido.
The reason no one uses Aikido is because the martial art doesn%26#039;t involve live sparring (randori). Aikido is an off-shoot of Judo that has deep pacifist philosophical and religious roots.
An Aikido session will revolve around learning a variety of throws and submissions, but none of them will be applied in a live situation. As such, it would be hard for a mixed martial artist to train in Aikido and then apply it in the octagon. It%26#039;s kind of hard to throw a live (punching, kicking) opponent when you haven%26#039;t practiced against a live opponent.|||Aikido practitioners do not fight for sport. Thats why there are only Aikido demonstrations, and no tournaments, or competitions. its just not part of their philosophy.|||nobody would dare to use Aikido in UFC.
the technique is mainly for self-defense and using your attacker%26#039;s momentum and force to catch him for his disadvantage. A 5 minute round for 3 rounds inside a cage is not suitable.
anyhow, you could incorporate it in other MMA technique|||Jason Delucia has reportedly practiced and used Aikido in MMA matches. I%26#039;m not sure he ever figured prominently in a UFC specific event though.

Edit -
Christian B, Aikido is not an offshoot of Judo. Both arts are derived from older Koryu styles of Jujitsu.|||I thought UFC prohibits small joint manipulation, wrist locks, and pressure points which are the mainstay of Aikido?
