Whats the diffrence between judo, aikido, and ju-jitsu?

i know there all grappling but whats the diffrence|||no no no, judo in jap means the gentle way. it is not more rough or whatsoever|||aikido- uses the attackers force against them by manipulating their balance and putting them to the ground.

judo- simply gaining a dominant position on your oppononent to throw them through the ground, Similar to aikido but far more aggressive and powerful.

jujitsu or brazlian jujitsu (BJJ

) is a ground fighitng art which focuses on gaining a dominant position on your oppononent on the ground, and be able to submit them via joint manipulation or chokes.|||Well first off these are all non striking martial arts. Aikido is mainly a self defense art that utilizes your opponents body weight against them. It mainly consists of throws as your opponent comes at you.

Judo utilizes throws as well, but it uses more power. you do not usually use your opponents body weight against them. instead you use alot of hip tosses and sweeps. Judo also utilizes a small amount of ground fighting an submissions, but most of the submissions come almost immediately after or during the takedown.

Jiu Jitsu on the other hand may utilize some Judo throws, but the majority of the art teaches you how to fight on the ground. it utilizes head, arm, and hip control of your opponent, to get you in a better position and submit your opponent by using a choke, or joint lock. It is considered one of the best arts for defending yourself, because of the high number of instances that a fight will go to the ground.

Now as far as Judo and Jiu Jitsu, it matters what type of Jiu Jitsu you are talking about. the most popular right now is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu actually have alot of similarities, but they are completely different arts. This is because BJJ comes from Judo. Back in 1914 a man called Conde Koma (Matsuya Maede) brought the art of Judo to Brazil. on of his first students was Carlos Gracie who began learning the art. in 1921 Carlos began teaching his brothers Jorge, Gastao, Osvaldo and eventually Helio Gracie. The family then began adding to the sport and it has develped into a very prominent ground fighting art.|||Besides training methods and that:

Aikido - Throwing your enemy onto the ground (usually using their own body weight)

Judo - Fighting for grips then unbalancing (equivalent to brazilian ju jit)

Ju-Jitsu - Striking, throwing, and joint locking.
