In Aikido, are you taught never to attack?

I was just wondering because someone told me it us true there is no attack in Aikdo martial art. Is it also true of Judo?|||That%26#039;s right no attack in Aikido/|||I had a friend who taught aikido. He did not teach attacking. THAT SAID - they do hold competitions, there for someone has to attack or all the would do is stand there.





In Judo, you attack. And in competition if you do not attack in 10 seconds you lose points.|||Aikido is strictly a defensive art. There are no attacks. All the techniques are based on when someone is attacking you first.
